I'm building a simple work desk. Four corner legs 3/4" EMT. I'd like to use a solid wood top 72" x 24" instead of laminate. It weighs 78 lbs so I am concerned what is the capacity of 3/4" EMT? If I use flanges will the legs buckle sideways if I move the desk? Do I need to support the middle with a 5th leg? Instead of using flanges should I make an EMT rectangle along the underside of the desk and use conduit straps?

FYI I built a smaller desk using IKEA Linmon which weighs next to nothing using four corner EMT legs into flanges and had no problems. But the Linmon is cardboard inside and weighs only 12 pounds.
