So I am making another hoop house but don't want to use wood for the purlin like the one here and was going to use maker pipe 180° connectors with EMT every 5'.

Does anyone know the weight capacity of the 180° or if the EMT ever slips out of the connectors? Just a screw doesn't seem like it would be that sturdy. Are the connectors metal?

The method I am using uses tension from the ropes pulling against the plastic and so it really sturdies everything up, especially if the ends are solid and don't sway (why the purlin is key.) I just want to make sure the connectors won't easily break, like if they are plastic instead of metal?

Thanks for the help!
