Any suggestions for a shim that I can get locally today at Home Depot or Lowe's, to let me use 1/2" EMT instead of $$$ 3/4" EMT??

3/4" Pex tubing from Lowes will allow you to shim down to 1/2" EMT

Are there similar connectors for 1 inch emt tubes? Sometimes, I feel the 3/4 emt is not stiff enough.
Has anyone found a ball bearing that fits the outside diameter of the 3/4 EMT?
Has anyone ever flared out the end of EMT? I’m thinking that it would be a 1 1/4” diameter piece.
Where do people source their EMT from? Home Depot and Lowes are at $8.48/10 ft. I would like to find a better price ... prices, but is there a better way?
Is there a way to connect 1/2-inch conduit flush? I see that threaded pipe inserts for example are only for 3/4-inch and ... but that is more expensive and heavier.
Has anyone used this system to build an indoor play structure for kids? I'm guessing the limiting factor is the load ... do you think this would be advisable?
