I'm thinking about making a cart for disc golf out of conduit and using this design as a go by... Does anybody know how the connection is done, it's probably just a threaded insert but what about the spacer that is formed to the tubes??

Could use Maker Pipe T connectors there. If you are trying to keep it slimmer without a connector, why not just file the pipe end with a rounded file into a curved shape, or use a Dremel grinding bit. Or if you have access to a 3d printer, curved endcaps would be an easy model.

Is there a way to connect 1/2-inch conduit flush? I see that threaded pipe inserts for example are only for 3/4-inch and ... but that is more expensive and heavier.
