Made a Bimini for the front half of our pontoon boat. That’s the shade cover; with the blistering heat the front half of the boat was tough to sit in for more than a few minutes. Makerpipe and 3/4 conduit to the rescue.

The biggest trick was attaching it without drilling holes in the frame, at least until I was sure it was positioned correctly. Plumbing hose clamps held the pipe attachments to the frame, makerpipe clamps hold the two structural triangles together. The overhead pipe is one 10’ pipe bend at the ends.

The tarp is actually a 90% sun shade garden tarp with grommets; I added about 5 extra grommets at the front corners to more closely follow the curve of the bend pipe.

It is attached just by 2 bungee cords at the back; road tested to our max speed, through multiple heavy rains, everything is fine!

Pics: it’s the front-half shade; the back half came with the boat. A custom quote for this was $3,000 and maybe I can get to it by September. I did it in two weeks for about $100.
