Hi everyone, glad I stumbled across this site. I've made two frames now for movie screens with pvc and they've been destroyed due to wind weather etc. Thought of using conduit and glad this place exists. Please help me with a few questions.
I have attached a rough draft drawing of my screen frame measurements. It's not accurate where pieces go or anything. The screen is 160"x90" and is multilayered pvc. I'm wanting this to be easy to disassemble and reassemble. Thanks in advance to everyone that reads and has suggestions/answers. :-)
Which will be the best to use for both sturdiness and keeping it light, 3/4 or 1/2?
With the weight will I be OK with connecting each section for the top and bottom without a vertical center pole? I'm hoping to avoid as the center pole would cause the screen to flex in the center so I will then need to extend the pole outwards from the back.
On the attached image, I have little rectangles showing where connectors will need to go and where the pipes will separate for storage. What connectors would be best for each of the rectangles that I have placed. Also, will need connectors on the 4 corners of the screen
Lastly, I will want to put cement in ground with female threads so I can screw the legs on. Will I need three legs or two and what is best to have male threads on the ends. The legs will be about 20 inches.
