I vividly remember my first Erector Set my parents gave me when I was about 8 years old. It was a candy apple red fire engine which I immediately took apart to build my own mechanical contraptions.
I started selling some simple and complex rubber powered helicopters in my spare time back in the early 80's while I was working as an cellular systems engineer for a mayor firm in Chicago. My small hobby, turned into a part time business venture, started looking promising after I expanded my line to electric powered free flight and radio control micro helicopter projects which I was sharing with readers, both via RC hobby magazines and via some very early internet forums, so I quit my daytime job and career to go on my own doing what I love to do, design and build unique RC models which I was having a hard time finding to my satisfaction and selling them to rc model enthusiast who were also looking for more out of the norm rc products.
In 1999 I relocated from Chicago to Arizona in favor of the year round good weather and I established MIA Micro-FLIGHT, my business took off from that point and I have been operating under such since then. You can find more about my story via my web site www.micro-flight.com
By nature of the work I have been doing over the past 40 years and specializing in various capacities, especially things that are of a mechanical, electrical and aeronautical nature, I am naturally drawn to things and areas that share this common ground.
Because a good amount of the things I have built, since I can remember, were "bolt-on", it was natural for my later on RC Model designs and products, which I sell in kit form, to be also of a similar approach. It is this experience that has lead me to this site, while searching specifically for bolt-on connectors I could use in full scale static and dynamic applications with inexpensive EMT tubing. I have, in the past, built things for the home and self enjoyment from EMT tubing but using the more expensive EMT connectors. I was happy to find an alternative via Maker Pipe solution so that I could continue to build creatively and inexpensively DIY fun projects for self enjoyment. I hope to soon share some really cool projects I have been working on. MIA
