Dan modeled this sweet raised garden bed. Here’s some details he shared about his project.
“ The raised bed will be 4 feet wide, 12 feet long, and 19 inches tall. The overall height will be 8 feet, six inches. The model is scaled to one inch per foot.
There are many similar designs in the world and I have looked at many of them. Some designs are for shorter crops, some taller. Some designs are for holding up a frost cover or clear plastic or netting. Some structures are trellises made to hold vining crops. My design is unique, I think, because it will be able to do all of these things. It is tall enough to accommodate tall crops (tomatoes, pole beans, etc.), has a sloped roof to shed water when covered with plastic, can support lower-hanging treatments such as row covers, and will be sturdy enough to support trellises. It can also be used without the top structure.”
