"My build is a sunshade frame that is installed over a pergola. I used 1/2" EMT. to build a frame around the 8'x10' sunshade fabric. Bungee balls were used to strap the fabric to the frame. I realized that the tubing was bowing where the tubing was not bolted down to the pergola. I needed two tubes in the middle to keep the frame from bowing inwards I ordered T-Connectors with the 1/2" shims and they arrived as promised. With the T-Connectors, it was a simple modification and did not need to disassemble the frame. I simply unlatched the bungee balls, slipped the EMT tubes to the desired location, snapped on the shims and connected the T-connectors into place.

I used a clamp to keep the connector in place before inserting the screw. This kept the tube in place and made alignment of the screw into the nut. The 1/2" T-Connector comes complete with connectors, shims, screws and nuts. The install took 20 minutes which includes climbing a ladder."
