Hi, I'm planning a batting cage build out of top rail ( 1 3/8" OD). I decided on top rail for strength/rigidity and since the cage will be outside all the time. Mid-Atlantic climate.
I am looking for guidance on whether to support the cage with vertical posts and joints every 10' or instead every 20', where the top rail would span 20' using the built-in coupling of the top rail pipe. This would save on materials a good bit.
The cage is a total of 60' long x 15' wide by 10' high. (The 15' cross sections will be made up of 10' extended by a 5' piece of top rail.)
Drawing attached. The segments with blue lines through them and circled joints would not be required for the 20' span version.
Are there any 4-way Connectors available for the top rail diameter yet? I would love to use some for this project.
Thank you for any insight.
