Morning All!
I'm watching a YouTube this morning and happen to notice the amazing vine wrapped truss roof behind these two guys (pic below). I would very much like to build something similar. Couple of questions for the group.
Has anyone laid out a truss system like this with conduit/Maker Pipe connectors? I'm no engineer and would hope someone smarter than me has already come up with patterns and connections that work. I know there's probably a million ways I could do this without a truss, but I specifically like the engineered look of this.
I'd assume I'd need to paint everything but is there anything else I should do to mitigate rust as much as possible? This would obviously be in the weather and direct sunlight waiting for vines to grow. Later, it will deal with long term vine attachment and moisture. I know it wouldn't last forever, but I'd like to give it as much a chance as possible.
What other problems would you foresee with using conduit/Maker Pipe for a system like this? I've got some construction skills, but again, I'm no engineer and haven't done anything like this before.
Thanks!
