New member here and admittedly I’m not your typical engineer type of thinker so this is all pretty new to me.

I want to build a golf simulator enclosure that can fold into itself and am trying to figure out a simple and easy way to do this, where folding and unfolding only takes a moment.

I’m completely open to ideas but at the moment here is what I’m thinking…

Imagine a fold up table in which the legs fold in and out at a 45 degree angle from the corners. My idea is to have the sides and top of the enclosure fold out and in in the same way. I think I’d need to come up with some sort of a locking hinge in each corner that would connect the top and sides and then the tarp/fabric would collapse down with the hinge. So if you imagine the folding table, but around each folding leg is fabric, so when the legs come out, the fabric is tight and when the legs fold in, The fabric collapses.

Like I said I’m open to other ideas as well, i just really want to get started.
