I pretty much stole this design from another maker pip enthusiast after now liking how sail shades looked. The way they draped off the back of my cabin home, it sort of looked like a messy tarp. I, in fact, repurposed that sail shade as the shade I lashed to my maker pipe frame. One thing that was important to me was to be able to easily lower the shade to be able to let snow or other material that was on top fall away. If you look at the little video, you can see how easily that can be done. I can lower it from the set 20 degree pitch to about 50 degrees. I bent metal to create make shift hinges that work ok. Since then I have purchased boat awning hinges but have not added them yet. Pretty happy with the outcome.
